Pursue
("The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."John 10:10-11) We have all had it happen to us. We go to the doctor and they tell us something we don't want to hear. We receive an unexpected bill in the mail that we cannot pay. One of our friends or loved ones is in the hospital. We go to work and our hours are cut or even worse the company says they cant keep our position. Satan is the thief and he wants to steal everything and anything he can from us. He wants to do what he can to steal your love for the Lord. Satan comes and takes things from you to make you say"Why?". Satan is using so many distractions in our lives. Satan wants to distract you from God. David and his army returned to their home (I Samuel 30:3 "So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, [it was] burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives." ) David's men wept uncontrollably until they had no tears left to cry, like so many of us have done at our worst time. Instead of going after the thieves of their wives and children the men turned their anger towards David. David not only had to worry about losing his wife and children now he had to worry about losing his own life. (I Samuel 30: 6 "And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.") In our time of need we need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and questioning God. We need to do what David did and ENCOURAGE ourselves in Him! (I Samuel 30: 8 "And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.") David could have laid down and given up and suffered the loss of his family and his life. Instead David turned to the God who restores what Satan has taken! (I Samuel 30:19 "And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all."). In our time of need we can sit around and cry about it or we can take action. We can sit back and say "This must be the will of the Lord" or we can encourage ourselves in the Lord and pursue and overtake Satan and restore what was taken from us.

Who is normal?
Ive been thinking for the past couple of days about normalcy in today's society. I have often thought that maybe everyone is normal and I am the crazy one. I was thinking that my beliefs were a minority in this world. The belief that global warming is hoax, yet I still hear people talk about how its real. Even with the recent emails from scientist changing numbers and leaving out facts to support an agenda. And lets not forget the harsh winter storms, people still say that these are being caused by global warming? What in the world?! Are these people for real? This has lead me to believe that no one can think for themselves anymore. This I have found out from personal experience. Parents calling the police because their 10 or 12 year old child will not listen to them. Wanting the Police to scare them into behaving. Wow, oh and its never the parents fault for this. Its their child's friends, society, or yours but never their own. In today's society there is no discipline in any aspect of life. We are seeing the result of society turning their back on God and the family. Children who grew up and were allowed to run around and do what they want. Children who would get into trouble and not recieve any form of discipline. Proverbs 13:24 says "He who spareth the rod hateth his son, but he that loveth him corecteth him betimes". What we are seeing is the transition from the baby boomer age to generation x as parents. I see it every day, parents of middle school kids fighting at school. PARENTS!!!! I ask myself what is going on here and I discovered the answer. The more I look into to it and ask questions to the persons involved the same answer is given. EVERY person I've spoken to about out of control children. EVERY person ive spoken to where they are adults acting like 10 year olds. The answer is always the same "No". I ask if they are in church or if they discipline their child and they always say no. What we are seeing is the family being ripped apart by the "normals" of today's society. Its normal in today's society to let your child stay out all night. Its normal in today's society to let your young teenager engage in sexual activities. Its normal in today's society to have your child to steal from any store. Its normal in today's society for your child to be involved in drugs and alcohol. This is what passes at normal. For some who read this some wont believe it. I ask those people to break their bubble and see today's society for what it actually is. All you have to do is turn on the television and see what kind of sewage is on the "Family" channels being pumped into your child's mind or even yours. This is how you change a society. You start with the family and children. Change your ways of thinking. Change your thoughts on whats normal. Matthew 5:13 says "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt becomes tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by man". As the salt of society we must add taste and give meaning where there is no meaning. As Christians we must be a part of helping to develop society. Adding salt means changing the flavour. If we lose our taste than we are worthless. I challenge you to change the flavour of society and your family.
